Hit longer drives...
The information in the table below gives information on how to hit the longest drives that you can. There is lots of information but the key column for you to look at is attack angle.
The difference in carry distance when swinging the club at 85mph with Driver is 22 yards when hitting up on the golf ball as opposed to hitting down. This shows that with the correct technique with driver you are able to gain a large amount of distance without increasing clubhead speed.

Johnson secures lifetime status
The first World Golf Championship of 2019 took place over the weekend and for those of you who haven't heard about WGC events before, these are arguably the biggest events outside of golf's four Majors.
Perhaps, then, it was no surprise to see two of golf's biggest names battle it out for top-spot over the four days, with Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy going blow-for-blow in Mexico as golf's other stars struggled to keep pace.
The final result was a five-shot victory for the big-hitting American, thanks to five birdies during a blemish-free back-nine on Sunday afternoon. For McIlroy, it was a story of what could have been as the Northern Irishman mixed countless birdies with nine bogeys and a double-bogey across the week.
This was Johnson’s 20th PGA Tour title and pushed him back up to number two in the World Rankings, within touching distance of Justin Rose at the summit. It was a week where DJ also joined illustrious company in becoming only the fifth man in the last 50 years to win 20 PGA Tour titles before turning the grand old age of 35. But can you name the other four? Here’s a clue: two of them were playing in the tournament at weekend.
However, aside from claiming his sixth WGC title and third in Mexico, it meant Johnson will earn lifetime status on Tour as soon as he completes his 15th season. Not a bad weekend for the American and proof that hard work certainly pays off.
P.s. The other four were of course Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Johnny Miller, and Tom Watson.

2019 Pro V1 and Pro V1X
2019 Pro V1 and Pro V1X now available in store.
Compared to previous Pro V1 and X Models, this golf ball has been designed to leave the clubface faster and with less spin to maximise distance. This has been achieved with a new core and casing layer compared to previous models.
The cover is 17% thinner compared to previous models to ensure the ball still offers the best feel and control on short game shots. To find out which model will suit you best, please ask the professional staff. |
Odyssey Stoke Lab putters
New Odyssey Stoke Lab putters now in store, variety of different models to suit all players.
The putters offer a Multi Material shaft that is 40 grams lighter than standard putter shafts. This saved weight is redistributed at each end of the putter to help improve stroke dynamic. The shaft is stiffer and lower torque to improve control of the slightly heavier head.
White Hot Microhinge face increases topspin for a smoother roll and improved distance control. To try out these putters to find which one suits your game the best, please speak to a member of staff in the Professional Shop.

Callaway Epic Flash
New Callaway Epic Flash driver and fairway woods available for custom fitting.
Artificial Intelligence was used to try 15000 different face designs to find the one that produces the best ball speed.
Jailbreak technology will stabilize the crown and sole, placing more impact load on the face and produce faster ball speeds.
A lighter material has been used to make the crown of the club, allowing the weight saved to be distributed around the club head, giving a higher MOI and making the Epic Flash very forgiving on off centre hits.

75 yards? Up-and-down for me... |
The majority of golfers know how far they hit their driver and irons with a full swing, but wedges require you to be a lot more accurate if you want to start shooting better scores. So, whilst it can be useful to know how far a full PW or LW goes, you'll benefit far more from dialling in your wedges so you can hit specific distances that you regularly find yourself with on the course. |
Give yourself options You'll notice that different swings with each wedge will result in yardages that overlap - see table above. This is important as it'll give you options when considering the conditions. For example, if you're facing a strong breeze, we'd suggest going up a club and utilising a shorter swing so the ball flies lower with less spin, helping it to penetrate through the wind. |
Dial in with Vokey wedges We'd recommend having a wedge system of the same brand and model, so you remove any variables in feel and spin across wedges. One model that we love is Titleist's Vokey SM7 Slate Blue wedge. This limited edition finish is only around for spring 2019, and is a combination of durability and beauty. With more spin than previous generations of Spin Milled wedges, the SM7 is available in lofts from 46 to 62 degrees which allows us to correctly fit you into the perfect set-up for your game. |
